Luzinterruptus

Luzinterruptus é um colectivo de artistas urbanos de Madrid. utilizam a luz como material em bruto. a noite faz o resto..
oiçamo-los:
Luzinterruptus is a anonymous art collective. We carry out urban installations in public spaces and use light as raw material and the night as our canvas.
The three members of the team come from different backgrounds such as art, lighting and photography and we want to apply our creativity in a common action , leaving lights on in protest, so that other people turn them off.
Our name has a lot to do with our work method. “Luzinterruptus” is a work of Latin origin which means interrupted light: What happens to our lamps shortly after they have been left on the streets.
This is 800 books, each with a light attached, with the intention of replacing traffic with literature.

Part new years celebration, part protest against the proliferation of security cameras and the big brother society

A very crowded area at night time when the atmosphere is great… we installed 80 male urine containers, the ones used in hospitals. Inside we poured yellow water and, what else but our lights.
…during the day and at night time people urinate anywhere in the streets without any embarrassment. They just walk along, turn round, zip down and, even in crowded places, seen by passers-by, let go.
Through our installation, public toilets, we have tried to attract attention -in a comical manner- about the problem we encounter when walking in centric streets and squares.
